Waidley, executive director of the clinic. "The department has
assisted us every since we opened our doors 30 years ago."
In addition to contributing funds, the Linns are being recognized
for their hands-on leadership.
"Joyce dropped everything to act as interim director during the
recruitment process for an executive director," Waidley said. "She
has found many grant opportunities and has always stepped in when we
needed her."
Linn served as president of the board of directors. Together with
her husband, Marshall, they have acted as the clinic's ambassadors to
the city in their endeavor to be part of the Third Street Project.
Marshall Linn's company works with government agencies on
redevelopment and financial planning.
The funds raised through the silent and live auctions as well as
from attendance will go directly to the clinic.
"We hope the community will think about all the service people who
work in our homes and in the hotels and restaurant as well as the
self-employed workers and artists who wouldn't have anywhere else to
go for medical care," Waidley said. "As the cost of health insurance
benefits rise we need to do all we can to keep our community
healthy."
Restaurants sponsoring the event include Savoury's, Sundried
Tomato and David Wilhelm's Culinary Adventures, which includes French
75, Savannah Chop House and Sorrento Grille. Young's Market Company
will provide wines and spirits.
The gala will begin at 7 p.m., Sept. 27 at [seven-degrees], 891
Laguna Canyon Road. Individual tickets are $95 or $175 for couples.
