The Laguna College of Art and Design will present an exhibit that

represents a renaissance in painting devoted to depicting nature. The

collection of work, created by California and national painters, will

include landscape, figure and still life. The exhibit will run

through Dec. 15. The college is at 2222 Laguna Canyon Road.

USO PARTY

The Laguna Beach American Legion will hold a USO party from 5 to

9:30 p.m. The Sizzlin' Seniors in Motion will perform, and attendees

can dance to the sounds of big band. There will be prizes for the

best dressed civilian and military. The event will take place at

Veterans Memorial Community Center, 384 Legion St. Donations are $10

for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Proceeds will be

MILLER GARDEN PARTY

Friends of the Hortense Miller Garden will celebrate its 25th

anniversary and Miller's 94th birthday with a party to raise funds

for preservation of the garden. Visitors will tour the garden and

house, enjoy food from local restaurants, meet with Miller and bid on

garden-related silent auction prizes. Shuttle buses will leave from

the parking lot of the Christian Science Church from 1 to 3 p.m. at

635 High Drive. The bus will return guests until dusk. Tickets are

AT THE COLLEGE

The Laguna College of Art and Design will host the Karen Lak

String Trio. The performance of works by Mozart, Brahms, Haydn, Fritz

Kreisler, Chopin and Massenet on violins and cello, will be the

highlight of a free art exhibition and classical music concert. This

event is presented by Laguna Beach Live! The trio will perform from 3

to 4:30 p.m. in Studio 12. The gallery, featuring "Unconventional

Views," will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. The college is at 2222 Laguna
