by Moure while she was working on numerous art historical books and
exhibitions for regional institutions, reflects her tastes and
predilections and is, therefore, particularly strong on art before
The acquisition also includes Moure's collection of 6,500 slides,
rare exhibition brochures. Moure, a long time supporter of Laguna Art
Museum, has made substantial donations to the Museum's Permanent
Collection and Library in the past.
In a press release Moure said "my real reason for giving this
collection to Laguna Art Museum is out of thanks for the Museum's
long-standing commitment to pre-1945 California art and because of
the Museum's location at the center of Orange County. ... It is there
that much of the research on pre-1945 art is being done and this
collection will reduce the trips local researchers will have to make
to the larger libraries in L.A."
The Laguna Playhouse's presentation of "The Spitfire Grill" has
been named Best Musical Production of 2002 at the seventh annual OC
Weekly Awards in February.
The West Coast Premiere production of James Valcq and Fred Alley's
musical also was recognized in a simultaneous ceremony in Hollywood.
The 26th annual "Robby" Awards named Raymond Kent Best Set Designer
for his work on "The Spitfire Grill" and Michael Edwards Best
Supporting Actor in a Drama for his work in The Laguna Playhouse's
