The Laguna Beach Senior Center hosts a monthly USDA surplus food

distribution from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the last Friday of the month.

Participants must have a monthly income less than $1,044 for a single

person and $1,407 for two. The distribution will take place on the

The South Coast YMCA will offer a new class that addresses

functional strength, balance and stability for seniors. Led by a

certified senior fitness associate and YMCA instructor, the classes

will be held at 1 p.m. every Monday at 29831 Crown Valley Parkway,

The SilverSneakers Fitness classes is an ongoing series designed

for strengthening and conditioning. The self-paced classes are taught

by certified instructors who guide participants through exercises

that focus on strength, flexibility and activities for daily living.

The South Coast YMCA administers an eight-site body fat test by a

trained YMCA fitness instructor using skinfold and girth

measurements. The tests can be scheduled at any time at the South
