Woman located after missing from beach

A woman was located at a hospital days after her fiancee reported

she disappeared near Main Beach on Saturday.

The woman's name could not be published because police are still

investigating the possibility that the she may have been sexually

assaulted, Sgt. Darin Lenyi said.

The woman's fiancee, 29-year-old Brian Andrews of Covina , told

police on Wednesday the woman, a 36-year-old Covina resident, was in

a hospital, Lenyi said. Lenyi did not know the specific hospital the

woman was treated at.

Andrews and his fiancee spent Friday night in Laguna after the

couple's car got a flat tire, police said. The two woke up Saturday

morning planning to fix their car and go home.

While Andrews was working on the tire, two men approached the

couple and offered them alcohol, police said. Andrews declined, but

the woman accepted the drink. The men then reportedly invited the

couple to their home in Laguna Hills.

Andrews told police that while fixing the tire, he took his eye

off his fiancee, when he turned around, she and the two men were

nowhere to be seen, police said.

Police described the first man as 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, with a

shaved head, hazel eyes and wearing a black and white shirt with blue

jeans. The second man was described as 5-foot-8, 185 pounds with

black hair and brown eyes. Police are asking anyone with information

on the incident to call Det. Paul Litchenberg at (949) 497-0758.

At about 9:19 p.m. Monday, Donn Gusemano, 49, of Laguna Beach, was

driver heading north on the highway, Sgt. Jason Kravetz said. Police

concluded Gusemano was at fault because she did not use a crosswalk.

The driver, Tandida Shain, 27, of Tustin, told police she heard a

thump and saw Gusemano down on the pavement in her side mirror,

Kravetz said. She immediately stopped to help Gusemano as two other

witnesses, another driver and a clerk at the Thrifty gas station,

came to Gusemano's aid.

Gusemano was taken to Mission Hospital for treatment of a broken

pelvis, bleeding behind a kidney and abrasions on her left side,

Kravetz said. She told police she could not remember being hit.
