Need for aid to Nepal addressed

Rosilind Russell will speak on her efforts to bring economic

development to Nepal, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Drive.

Russell will speak of her work to expand democracy and the

New members will get new tree

Anyone who joins the National Arbor Day Foundation during January

will receive five free Crapemyrtle trees with the purchase of a $10

yearly membership.

Crapemyrtles are small flowering trees that bloom pink and red

flowers. They grow six to 12 inches and are guaranteed by the

foundation to grow, or they will be replaced free of charge. Along

with the trees, members will also receive information on tree

planting and care and a subscription to the foundation's bi-monthly

magazine.

The membership contribution can be sent to Five Crapemyrtles,

National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE

68410. Membership contributions must be received by Jan. 31. The

trees will be shipped between February and May, at the correct time

Kinsman honored at Woman's Club

The Woman's Club of Laguna Beach will honor outgoing Mayor Cheryl

Kinsman at a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 4 at the Clubhouse, 286

St. Ann's Drive.

The luncheon will also feature the club's annual Valentine's Day

dessert contest. The event is open to the public and the cost is $15.

Royal Thai will donate to tsunami aid

The family-owned Royal Thai Cuisine Restaurant will donate all

restaurant sales from both lunch and dinner to a tsunami relief fund.

The restaurant invites everyone to bring friends and family to

support this effort at its Laguna Beach location, 1750 S. Coast

Highway. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and dinner will

An article in the Coastline Pilot, "Shack weathering storm," that

ran Jan. 7, gave an incorrect title for a neighborhood activists

group. The group should have been called the Hobo Aliso Neighborhood

Assn.
