Exchange student information session

AFS Intercultural Programs will have information and volunteers available at the public library from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Parents are invited to learn about exchange student programs available for this summer and next year; volunteers will also talk about how to host a visiting high school exchange student next year.

Ocean Institute visits school

The Ocean Institute's Adopt-a-Class visited the Boys & Girls Clubs of Laguna Beach earlier this month, bringing a mobile aquarium and a book reading.

After listening to Ocean Institute staff read "A House for Hermit Crab" by Eric Carle, the kids were taught to compare live organisms with the creatures in the book.

The visits were underwritten by the Hearts of Montage.

College to tour Los Angeles museum

Laguna College of Art & Design will host a docent guided tour of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on March 31.

The day trip is open to all ages, and include transportation aboard a luxury motor coach, admission to the museum, a complete docent guided tour of the exhibition "The Modern West: American Landscapes 1890-1950," lunch and refreshments on the ride home.

The tour will be lead by Laguna College professor William Havlicek, a co-host of the college's summer European program.

The motor coach will depart from the college, 2222 Laguna Canyon Road, at 10 a.m. and return at approximately 4 p.m. The cost is $75 per person; for reservations and additional information, call (949) 376-6000, ext. 233. Space is limited, and expected to sell out quickly.
