Laguna College of Art & Design presents a collection of plein air masterpieces on loan from the Irvine Museum beginning Nov. 1 at the college gallery, 2222 Laguna Canyon Road; the free show runs through Dec. 15.

Exhibition hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ample complimentary parking is available.

Artists represented will include Franz Bischoff, Frederick Dumond and William Wendt.

Tuscan memoir to be read Nov. 28

Author, photographer, sailor and winemaker Ferenc Máté will read from his new memoir, “A Vineyard in Tuscany,” at Latitude 33 Bookshop, 311 Ocean Ave., Nov. 28.

Game art lecture Nov. 5 at Laguna College

Laguna College of Art & Design will host the second in a series of lectures supporting the college’s newest major, game art, featuring special guest Zach Schlappi at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at [seven-degrees], 891 Laguna Canyon Road. Admission is free.

As art director for Electronic Arts, Schlappi has created and managed the overall vision and artistic development for the World War II franchise “Medal of Honor 5.”

The evening will depict the past, present and future of lighting theory as it relates to game.

Juried art show reception at City Hall

The city’s First Annual Juried Fine Art Exhibition will run through Nov. 21.

An artist reception and awards ceremony will be at 5 p.m. Nov. 1 at City Hall, 505 Forest Ave.

The show is juried by gallery owner Peter Blake, who selected 33 pieces by 33 Orange County artists.
