Registration required to speak at the toll road hearing

Anyone who wants to speak at the appeal hearing on the extension of the 241 Toll Road hearing must submit a written request by Sept. 12 to Thomas Street, attorney advisor, NOAA Office of General Counsel for Ocean Services, 1305 East-West Hwy., Room 6111, Silver Spring, MD 20910.

No late requests will be considered.

?Written requests to testify must include the a full name, address and statement of whether the testimony will be provided by an elected official, an individual on his or her own behalf, an organization or a tribe.

?Requests to testify on behalf of an organization must be submitted on the organization’s letterhead and include the person’s title and certified authorization to speak. Tribal representatives must identify their tribes and certify their authorization to speak for the tribe. Only one person is allowed to speak for an organization or tribe.

?Elected officials must identify their official title and public office. They must testify in person.

?Requests will be divided into the four categories, from which requests in each will be randomly selected. Priority will be given to elected officials, followed by individuals representing organizations or tribes and the general public.

?A testimony timetable will be created and published on the Department of Commerce Coastal Zone Management Act website, ww.ogc.doc.gov/czma.htm before the hearing.

?Elected officials will be given five minutes to speak, the general public will be limited to three minutes each.

?If anyone misses his or her assigned speaking slot, there will be no ability to make it up.

?Speakers will not be permitted to cede time to another speaker.
