MADERA — Laguna Beach resident Michael Lewis captured the United States Auto Club California Pavement Ford Focus pole position Saturday at the Madera Speedway, driving the No. 60 Western Speed Focus Midget care with a lap of 14.482 seconds.
Lewis finished the 25-lap main event in fifth after two on-track incidents, putting him to the back of the pack each time.
“We definitely had the speed, but it was a wild night out there and I just got caught up in a couple of racing incidents,” Lewis said in a press release.
