TODAY: Seniors are invited to join Elder Trek on an easy, level, 2-mile hike from 8 to 10 a.m. Enjoy the outdoors and learn about diverse plant life with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteer naturalists. Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Little Sycamore Canyon Staging Area/Nix Nature Center. Reservations are required, so call (949) 923-2235. Parking is $3. Donation is $2 per person.

SATURDAY: Go Green at the Sawdust Festival's Green Day, an all-day event including kids activities and environmental arts and crafts, plus a garden exchange. Kids can help paint a Wyland mural, shown, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the waterfall. Free with admission at 950 Laguna Canyon Road.

SUNDAY: Tap your toes to blues and bluegrass from Satin Blues from noon to 3 p.m., followed by Timbre Line from 4 to 7 p.m. at Art-A-Fair, 777 Laguna Canyon Road.

Aug. 21 brings the lyrics and voice of Sasha Evans, followed on Aug. 28 with Jason Feddy on the acoustic guitar. All the performances take place at the Old Pottery Place, 1200 S. Coast Hwy.

Art Of Cooking

Learn the fine art of cooking at the 6th annual weekly event series "Art of Cooking" at The Festival of Arts with columnist, author and on-air host Cathy Thomas from 1 to 2 p.m. Festival visitors can watch Thomas prepare a delicious dish and sample her recipes.
