Three accused of stealing car

Three teenagers, two from Texas and one from Colorado, were arrested on suspicion of stealing one of the youth's father's car at 3 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 1300 block of South Coast Highway, according to Sgt. Louise Callus.

The trio raised police suspicions as they drove through town, and a records check of the vehicle revealed that it had been stolen from Texas, Callus said.

Multiple officers responded and the highway was shut down while officers arrested the teens at gunpoint.

The arrestees, who were taken into custody without incident, were William Andrew Collins, 19, from Lone Tree, Colo.; Jesse Daniel Chisholm, 18, of Wimberley, Texas; and Dylan Ty Robinson, 18, of New Braunfels, Texas.

The vehicle belonged to Robinson's father, Callus said.

All were held without bail at the Orange County Jail, according to jail records.

Man enters home, then flees

A housekeeper confronted a strange man in the living room of the home where she was working in the 2000 block of South Coast Highway at 3:17 p.m., Callus said.

The man said he was looking for a house to buy and quickly left. The trespasser was described as white, 20 to 30 years old, with strawberry blond hair, 5 feet 1 to 6 feet tall and 166 to 175 pounds. He was last seen escaping over a neighbor's fence. Nothing appeared to be missing from the home.

Man arrested after temper tantrum

A Santa Ana man was arrested on suspicion of vandalism and public intoxication after police were called to the 20000 block of Laguna Canyon Road at 8:10 p.m. Aug. 20 at the dog park on a report that a man was screaming and kicking at dogs, Callus said.

Adrian Forrest, who turned 59 that day, was also accused of breaking two sprinkler heads after he apparently got mad that they went on while he was lying down and got him and his belongings wet, according to Callus.

Trolley driver locates wandering woman

A 74-year-old Laguna Beach woman was found safe by a trolley driver after she had been missing for about three hours on Sunday, Callus said.

The woman was reported missing at 12:52 p.m. by her husband, who said she had Alzheimer's disease and he had been searching for her for an hour and a half. The husband feared she could not find her way home.

Flyers were put out throughout the city for the woman, and trolley drivers were alerted. At 2:24 p.m. a trolley driver recognized her and called authorities.

Argument over parking leads to arrest

A Florida man was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a golf club against another man in a dispute over a parking space at 6:41 p.m. Tuesday at Beach Street and Ocean Avenue, Callus said.

George Breyer, 59, allegedly pulled a golf club out of his vehicle and threatened to assault the other man during the argument, Callus said. He was booked on $25,000 bail, according to police records.
