International Day of Peace marked
Neighborhood Congregational Church will celebrate Peace One Day at 10 a.m. Sunday. Worship will focus on peace through prayer, music, message, and celebration. Violinist Paul McIntyre and Pianist Pam Wicks will offer a number of musical pieces during the morning.
International Peace Day officially takes place on Tuesday, as adopted by The United Nations. Peace One Day looks to engage all sectors of society, including governments, organizations of the United Nations system, regional and non-governmental organizations and individuals in observance of Peace Day, through the practical manifestation of non-violence and ceasefire in accordance with UN GA Resolution 55/282, and encourage action on Peace Day that creates a united and sustainable world, according to NCC.
