The Laguna Beach Lady Breakers, a National Junior Basketball girls' Division 1 team comprised of seventh-grade players and one sixth-grader, ran their win streak to seven Sunday by defeating Capo Dana, 35-27.
The Lady Breakers, who led throughout in a close game, overcame a tough challenge from Capo Dana by getting contributions from every player on the court to stay atop the league standings at 7-0.
Alexandra Lewis paced the Breakers in scoring with 10 points. Katelyn Carballo contributed some key baskets and controlled the ball at the point for a majority of the game. Francesca Cecutti was dominant on the boards early and helped stake the Lady Breakers to an early lead.
