FRIDAY: Amy Stewart, bestselling author and speaker on the perils and pleasures of the natural world, will appear at the 9:30 a.m. Laguna Beach Garden Club meeting at the Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann's Drive. Following a 45-minute lecture, Stewart will sign purchased copies of "Wicked Bugs" and her previous book "Wicked Plants." Both books will be available for purchase from a representative of Latitude 33 Bookstore. SATURDAY: The Laguna Beach Methodist Art Assn. hosts an art show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Laguna Beach Methodist Church, 21632 Wesley Drive. The Painting Group has been meeting weekly and painting for 25 years.

Lagunatics junior set the LagunaTots take the stage at

7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and

6 p.m. Sundays at No Square Theatre, 384 Legion St. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children and seniors at nosquare.org. Topics include skateboarding, state testing, the Boys & Girls Club and the new RV park at El Morro Bay.

Poetry Writing Workshop

Learn the qualities and literary techniques used in poems from 9 to 11 a.m. Fridays at the Susi Q, 380 Third St. A nurturing environment for sharing new poems will be provided along with constructive discussion to assist each writer in revising their poems.
