Dimichina is guest artist at Artist Eye
Argentinean artist Giorgio Dimichina will display his work at Artist Eye Laguna Gallery through July. An artist reception will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the gallery, 1294-A S. Coast Hwy.
Dimichina works in acrylic, which he feels gives him more flexibility than watercolors or oils, according to a statement from Artist Eye. He grew up in Buenos Aires and became an artist at a young age. He then became an illustrator.

Topping featured at Studio Arts Gallery
Glass artist Melody Topping's kiln castings will be displayed at Studio Arts Gallery in "Ocean's Edge," a surf-inspired glass work show. A reception for Topping will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. July 7 in conjunction with First Thursday's Art Walk.
Topping received first place in Fusing/Kilnworked Glass at Pacific Art Glass for "Majestic Wave" in 2009 as well as first place and the People's Choice Award in Fusing/Kilnworked Glass at the 2010 Las Vegas Glass Craft and Bead Expo for "Golden Winter," according to a statement from Studio Arts.
Fitz Maurice's "Passion in Gouache" exhibition will also be at the gallery through July.
Maurice, a Laguna Beach artist, won the New York Jackson Pollock-Lee Krasner Award and has been chosen to represent the U.S. in the Florence Biennale and the Paris Triennale. Her work is in the permanent collection of the German Parliament, and "The War of Human Rights," was exhibited by the United Nations World Conference in Vienna, according to Studio Arts.
A 12-foot mural, painted in Laguna, is now touring nationally for the Art Miles Mural Project prior to being dedicated to the Manhattan Memorial Museum at the New York City 9/11 tribute in September.
