Summer art festival parking plan approved

Fees remain unchanged at all three festivals this summer.

May 23, 2012

The City Council approved an agreement with the three main art festivals at the May 15 meeting that will keep parking fees at the ACT V parking lot to $7 per vehicle, $20 for a season pass and free for vehicles with shoppers permits and buyers of Festival Passports.

Season parking passes and Festival Passports, which sell for $21.50 and include entrance fees for the three festivals — Art-a-Fair, Festival of Arts and Sawdust Art Festival — all season, will go on sale June 1 in the Community Services Department, 515 Forest Ave.

The ACT V parking lot accommodates 264 vehicles and is open seven days a week, June 29 through Sept. 2.

Summer trolleys will operate daily from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., but a limited route will begin at 8:30 a.m. at ACT V.

Portable restrooms, purchased in 2007, also will be made available to the public.

Parking at the Forest Avenue/Laguna Canyon and Lumberyard lots will be $10, starting June 26. There will be no free parking at these lots during the festival season.

Public parking will also be available at the Third Street Centers and Hagen Place lots for $5 when not occupied by facility users.
