The City Council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers, 505 Forest Ave.
The council will potentially approve about $5.6 million in construction contracts for the lifeguard headquarters and public restroom project.
So far, $1 million has been used for "the design and construction management" of the project, according to a staff report.
The $5.6 million figure includes costs for other elements of the project such as architectural and engineering support during construction, special inspection, temporary facilities for the lifeguards, relocation of communication equipment, art in public places and construction management, the report said. That will leave a reserve of $1.5 million.
