Mickalia “Mickey” Marguerite Ford began life in Los Angeles, Ca. on March 14th, 1944. Growing up in Manhattan Beach, Ca. she was a vibrant, and popular young lady, making friends wherever she went.
In 1969 she married Charles Haga, and began an adventurous life.  In 1979 Charles and Mickey had their only daughter, Yoshiko.  Mickey always had a desire to learn, and continued her education in Spanish Literature and graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1980.
A high school sweetheart re-appeared into Mickey’s life, and soon after she moved herself and Yoshiko down to Laguna Beach to be with Larry Ford.  In 1987 they were married, and Mickey gained two more daughters from Larry’s previous marriage, Kim and Debbie Ford.
During this time Mickey quickly became a local by working at John Campbell Insurance Co. in downtown Laguna Beach. After which, she pursued a new career and became a teachers aide in the English as a Second Language program at both Top of the World and Thurston Middle School.
In 2000 Mickey and Larry invested in their daughter Yoshiko, and purchased the downtown landmark, Laguna Flower Company.  For five years the family owned, and operated the stand. Larry and Mickey then sold their Laguna Beach home and moved to Talega in San Clemente, Ca.
She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which she did not have to suffer with long, as she passed on Friday April 26, 2013.
Survived by her husband Larry, her daughter Yoshiko, her parents Clyde and Lucy Chase. As well as her stepdaughters Kim Ryan, Debbie Schroeder and their children.
Passionate about her pets, and a lover of all animals, the family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in her memory at the Pet Project Foundation.
