Lagunans asked for food-drive donations

October 10, 2013|By Bryce Alderton

Laguna Beach Housing and Human Services Committee is seeking donations for a city-wide food drive and the World Hunger Bowl.

The food drive is getting help from Waste Management services, which is picking up food on three days and delivering it to the Laguna Food Pantry. Residents will receive notification of the pickup dates from Waste Management and may leave non-perishable food items curbside for pickup on their normal trash collection day.

The Laguna Food Pantry provides free groceries to low-income households from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.

For more information about the food drive, contact Waste Management epresentative Davy Clark at dclark1@wm.com. Learn more about the Laguna Food Pantry at http://www.lagunaresourcecenter.org.

Proceeds from the event will benefit homeless individuals and families of Laguna Beach and the Collaborative Courts Foundation's Homeless Outreach Program. To purchase tickets, visit http://www.WorldHungerBowl.org or call volunteer chair Faye Chapman at (949) 280-2885.
