The Laguna Ocean Foundation is looking for volunteers for its tidewater docent program designed to preserve the rocky intertidal habitat and educate beachgoers about the coast's natural resources.

Docents are asked to volunteer once a month for a three-hour shift at local tidepool sites such as Crescent Bay, Shaws Cove, Woods Cove and Goff Cove, all within the Laguna Beach State Marine Reserve.

Those interested in volunteering can attend a training class 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point followed by on-site training at the tidepools. Volunteers must be 18. To sign up or for more information, email Letty Skeen, tidewater docent coordinator at lagunaoceanfoundation@gmail.com, call (949) 400-6032 or visit LagunaOceanFoundation.org.
