About 100 community members attended Saturday's open house to celebrate the Pacific Marine Mammal Center's remodel project, center Development Director Melissa Sciacca reported in an email.

The Laguna Canyon center, whose staff rescues and rehabilitates sick and injured marine mammals such as sea lions, has a new intensive care unit, public restroom, multipurpose room, gift shop and an observation deck.
