Cove Gallery to celebrate 33 years Cove Gallery, at 1294-B S. Coast Highway, will celebrate its 33rd anniversary with a pair of receptions the weekend of Nov. 11. The receptions, which will include all 15 of its artists, will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 12. 'Artistic Images' at Esther Wells "Artistic Images," featuring works by Shirley Murray, will debut at Esther Wells Collection on Oct. 21. The show will conclude Nov. 12. Capturing the essence and color of the Santa Monica Mountains and local coastlines is what makes Burbank artist Bruce Trentham tick. Although he has experimented and worked in many mediums including etching, his tactile sense has kept him pretty faithful to his use of pastels when creating his sea and landscape impressionistic works of art. "Nothing else was quick enough for me," Trentham said. "With pastels you buy the colors you want to use so you don't necessarily have to mix colors and everything is totally immediate."

The museum is closed on the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's days. Through May 18: "Sea Change: Tanya Aguiñiga's Bluebelt Forest," an aquatic-themed installation.
