Mike Swanson Police arrested a Laguna Hills resident June 6 on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after they say he drove his truck the wrong way on Ocean Avenue and onto the sidewalk in an apparent attempt to hit a pedestrian. David Lee Horton, 23, apparently followed the victim, Daniel Raessner of Irvine, to Laguna Beach. Raessner said he had just driven from a court date in Laguna Hills involving Horton's soon-to-be adoptive father, Dwayne Brigham, Det. Natalie Leal said.

Frank T. Keneley, age 94, died Sunday March 20th of natural causes. Mr. Keneley is survived by his wife, Hilde; two daughters, Suzi and Robbi. He also leaves behind one granddaughter, Shannon. Frank is a United States Air Force Veteran of World War II. Services will be held this Friday at 7:00 p.m. at O'Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills. The Laguna Beach Little League 9/10 All-Star team was eliminated Wednesday from the District 55 All-Star Tournament by Rancho Mission Viejo, which posted a 5-3 victory at Heroes Park in El Toro. Laguna had opened the tournament Saturday against defending champion Aliso Niguel. Aliso Niguel showed that it doesn't intend to give up its district crown, as it rolled to a 12-0 victory, which sent Laguna into the "Second Chance" half of the bracket. The double elimination tournament runs through July 14. Laguna Beach's 9/10 All-Star team was composed of Grifan Fair, Blake Hester, Austin Hilleman, Alex Iannotti, Cole Kessler, Brandon Lewis, Robbie McInerny, Austin Paxson, Santi Pierini, Norton Penney, Jack Pillsbury, Derek Reigel, Larry Stewart and Brian Vail.

The postseason run for the Laguna Beach Little League 9/10 All-Star team came to an end Tuesday at La Paz Park. Laguna Beach was eliminated from title contention at the District 55 All-Star Tournament by Newport Beach-American, which scored a 14-1 victory. Laguna Beach suffered consecutive losses after opening up the double-elimination tournament with an impressive victory. Laguna Beach began the tournament with a resounding 10-1 victory over South Irvine-American.

The Laguna Pink girls' soccer team won two matches last weekend to move into first place in the division standings. Laguna continued unbeaten on the season (6-0-2) by blanking neighboring Laguna Hills, 4-0, and edging San Juan Capistrano, 2-1, in AYSO 10-and-Under play. Laguna Beach 4, Laguna Hills 0 Laguna Beach hit the road for a Saturday match in Laguna Hills and returned home with a dominating performance that led to a shutout victory. Makenzie Fischer posted two goals to lead a Laguna Beach scoring attack that also saw Johana Abarca and Jamie Duncan post goals.
