The Pageant of the Masters is a unique form of art where creations of master artists come to life in tableaux vivants, which means "living pictures." They are re-created with the accompaniment of orchestral music and a guided narrative. Masters from various time periods are represented through re-created statues, paintings, jewelry, posters and other media. Each year, a different theme brings new works to the stage. This year's theme is "A Passion for Art," which asks what mysterious force compels an artist to create a work of lasting beauty and power.

Mike Sciacca They might not have won the District 55 banner, but the 2002 Laguna Beach Little League 9/10 All-Star team has plenty reason to be proud. They won two games in the just completed All-Star Tournament of Champions, reached the quarterfinal round in winner's bracket play in a field that included 16 teams, and were one of the final six teams left in the running for the district crown. And now, after being eliminated last weekend from title contention, these 9/10 All-Stars can reflect on a successful post-season run. "We had a great time.

Hello, my name is Sweetie. I am a 10-year-old female Chihuahua. My owner rescued me from a shelter and then passed away suddenly. I have a heart condition and do require $10-a-month medication, but other than that, I am in good shape. I am a whole lot of love in a tiny package. I love to snuggle and hide under blankets. I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on all my shots. If you are my forever home, please call Animal Crackers Pet Center at (949) 454-0800 or visit our new location at 23410 Moulton Pkwy., Suite P, Laguna Hills, CA, 92637.

As much as the move of Laguna Shanti, the city's long-time HIV/AIDS support group, to Laguna Hills makes financial and medical sense, it still is a difficult bit of news to digest. Laguna Shanti is so deeply intertwined with the character of this community -- its activism, its outreach and its far-reaching support of neighbors -- that the idea of the group doing its much-needed and excellent support work outside the city limits is certain to alarm, perhaps even madden, some who have supported Laguna Shanti for years.
