Last call for 'Rumors' at LBHS Laguna Beach High School's Park Avenue Players are doing their last performances of "Rumors" at the Artists Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The play, set in the late 1980s and about four affluent New York couples who show up for a party only to find mayhem, is directed by Amanda Saunders, a professional actor, director, and high school alumna, according to a press release. Pearson now full-time at Playhouse Laguna Beach City Councilwoman Elizabeth Pearson is now a full-time staffer at the Laguna Playhouse, where she previously did consulting work as a marketing and public relations expert. On Feb. 6, the Playhouse announced it had named the former three-time mayor as its director of development. As she is still serving on the council, Pearson will have to recuse herself from voting on any council matters relating to the Playhouse, officials said in a news release.

Applicants sought for two city committees The City Council is now accepting applications for both the Heritage Committee and the TechComm Committee, according to a news release from the city. There are five seats open for two-year terms on the Heritage Committee, which advises the council on historical preservation matters in the city. There are two seats open for two-year terms on the TechComm Committee, which advises the council on telecommunications issues like cable TV, public access television, Internet and telephone service.
