The Laguna Board of Realtors? 11th annual Pet Parade/Chili Cook-Off boasted eight chili booths, seven vendor booths and 114 pets registered under seven different categories, according to Stephanie Lennon, executive vice president. The event took place Sept. 9 at Tivoli Too. Caroline Haines and Marcus Skenderian chaired the event and many volunteers helped make it happen. A new category this year was Most Beautiful Rescue Pet, which turned out to be the most popular category of all, according to Lennon.

Vehicle overturns after collision A vehicle flipped over in a collision at 7:47 p.m. Oct. 20 in Coast Highway near Third Avenue after the driving hit a vehicle in the process of parallel parking, Sgt.Louise Callus said. The driver of the overturned vehicle, which had collided with the parking vehicle, was initially believed to be trapped in the vehicle but was able to crawl out on his own, Callus said. He sustained minor to moderate injuries and was taken to Mission Hospital Laguna Beach for treatment.

EVAN MARMOL "Blade Trinity" is by leaps and bounds the most different vampire movie that I have ever seen. By no means the best, but as innovative and entertaining as a movie of this genre could ever aspire to be. The typical, boilerplate plot involves legions of ghoulish, or irresistibly gorgeous, vampires slaking their thirst on hapless virgins until the hunter tracks them down to impale them. Even the first two Blade predecessors are guilty of this platitude.
