Police and firefighters were called to two traffic collisions that occurred within minutes of each other on South Coast Highway Thursday. Officers were first called to a rear-end collision involving two cars on South Coast Highway and Legion Street at about 9:10 a.m. The No. 1 southbound lane was shut down and traffic was congested through Downtown. The driver of the vehicle that had been hit complained of neck pain and was treated by firefighters before she was transported to the hospital.

Brooks Street: two men were cited for less than one ounce of marijuana in the 1200 block at 11:40 p.m. Thursday. Cliff Drive: a man was arrested for possession of narcotics in the 400 block at 11:28 p.m. Thursday. Cliff Drive: a man was arrested for grand theft and forgery in the 100 block at 7:45 a.m. Thursday. Coast Highway/Aliso: a group of boys were reported throwing items off the Aliso bridge at 5:03 p.m. Thursday.

A number of streets in downtown Laguna Beach will be closed from 9 a.m. to about 2 p.m. Saturday for the Patriots Day Parade. Laguna Beach police are advising motorists to use alternate routes during parade hours. Pacific Coast Highway and Laguna Canyon Road will remain open during the parade, but traffic is expected to be heavily congested due to the surrounding street closures. Roads which will be closed or directly affected during the parade are: Park Avenue (between Wendt Terrace and South Coast Highway)

WEDNESDAY South Coast Highway: Someone was reportedly throwing cones in the street and acting destructively at 12:58 a.m. in the 1700 block. TUESDAY El Camino del Mar: A vehicle was reportedly hit while parked in front of a residence at 11:14 a.m. in the 400 block. Gaviota Drive: A woman reported that she was receiving phone calls from someone who was making grunting noises at 2:16 p.m. in the 1100 block. High Drive: A Visa check card number was reportedly stolen and used to make charges at 9:03 a.m. in the 100 block.

A pickup truck hit and injured two pedestrians Thursday night in Laguna Beach, police said. The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m. at Thalia Street and South Coast Highway, Capt. Jason Kravetz wrote in an email. A 60-year-old Laguna Beach man in a Nissan was turning left from South Coast Highway toward Thalia Street on a green light when he hit a 52-year-old Laguna Beach man and a 53-year-old Aliso Viejo woman who were crossing the highway, Kravetz said. The man suffered broken bones while the woman sustained a head injury, but the injuries are not considered life-threatening, Kravetz said.

A car stuck and injured a pedestrian trying to cross South Coast Highway at Cress Street in Laguna Beach on Monday, police said. A 56-year-old Medford, Ore., resident was walking within the crosswalk when a Lexus RX 350 hit her at about 1:10 p.m., Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email. The driver, a 59-year-old Laguna Beach man, tried to make a left turn onto South Coast Highway but failed to see the woman, Callus said. The woman complained of pain to her left hip and leg and was transported to Mission Hospital Laguna Beach, according to police.

An Irvine woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants after she allegedly hit three parked cars with her vehicle, Laguna Beach police said. The crash occurred at 7:53 p.m. Aug. 29 at Agate Street and South Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, according to a police report. Officers took Elodie Grace Ohlsen, 25, into custody on suspicion of burglary and accessory to a felony, the report said. Ohlsen was driving a 2003 Toyota south on South Coast Highway when she veered off the road and hit the three unoccupied vehicles — a 2008 BMW, 2008 Porsche and 2011 Subaru — for an unknown reason, Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email.

A tractor trailer pushed a pickup into a utility pole along South Coast Highway early Saturday, Laguna Beach police said. No injuries were reported. The big rig pushed the unoccupied Ford Ranger 50 to 60 feet until it hit a pole at 3:31 a.m. near Moss Street and South Coast Highway, Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email. "The tractor trailer was driving north and drifted to its right, striking the pickup and pushing it into the pole," Callus said. She added that no drugs or alcohol were involved.
